taskhost.exe creating multiple pop up windows

By Sushant Mehta on February 6, 2013

Here’s an issue reported by some users recently:

My Internet connection frequently becomes slow for no apparent reason. The default homepage is changed to something else. I change the homepage back, but when I reopen my browser the new homepage appears instead of the default one. Multiple black pop up screens appear randomly, containing the following message: “C:Windowssystem32taskhost.exe”

The above issue is due to malware/virus. To resolve the issue, you would need to complete the following steps:

  • Update your antivirus software. If you do not have one, download an advanced and robust antivirus software Program
  • Restart your Windows computer in the Safe Mode. Here are the steps you need to perform to restart Windows 7 in the Safe Mode:
  1. Click the Windows icon in the taskbar, point to the arrow button next to Start, and then click Restart
  2. Press and hold the F8 key before Windows 7 Splash Screen appears
  3. Select the Safe Mode option in the Advanced Boot Options, and then press Enter
  • Scan your entire computer for infection
  • Delete all the malware reported by your antivirus software

How do I transfer photos to iPad from my PC?

This task is very simple. All you need is iTunes to be installed on your PC. If you do not have iTunes on your PC, download it and install it. iTunes, as you may know, is free.

Once you have iTunes on the PC, complete the following tasks to transfer photos to iPad.

  1. Connect the iPad to your PC
  2. Launch iTunes and click the iPad icon on your system tray
  3. Click Photos tab, select the “Sync photos from” box, and then select your picture folder from the displayed drop-down menu
  4. Select the photos on your iTunes that you want to transfer
  5. Click the Sync/Apply button

You can also transfer audio and video files stored on the PC to iPad in the similar fashion.

To keep your iTunes up-to-date, you must regularly install the relevant new updates. Keeping software and driver programs updated allows you to improve your PC’s performance, enhance its security, and prevent common errors.

While installing software updates is easy and requires no special software, installing driver updates manually can be time consuming. That is why, it is best that you use a reliable driver update tool, which automates and simplifies the whole process.
