hpqgpc01.exe error fix

By Sushant Mehta on February 9, 2013

hpqgpc01.exe is an important part of software for some HP printers. Users who have Windows Vista and who use a HP printer may receive the following error message when they shut down Windows:

“The exception unknown software exception (0X0000005) occurred in the application located in 0X 760fbe16.”

Cause

According to Microsoft, the aforementioned error occurs due to some problem with HP drivers.

Solution

We recommend you perform the following two steps to troubleshoot the above-mentioned error.

  • Uninstall and reinstall your HP printer

Uninstall the HP printer using the HP uninstaller or Windows Add or Remove Programs and shut down your pc. If you don’t get the error, it is quite clear that the error was indeed due to the printer. Next, reinstall your HP printer using the instructions given in the HP manual that you received with your printer.

  • Update your HP printer driver

You can do this manually or by using a reliable driver update tool. We recommend the latter option for speed  and reliability.
In case of the above two steps failing to resolve the error, you may consider contacting HP for support.

Windows 8 Connection Error 651

By Sushant Mehta on February 8, 2013

You try to connect your Windows 8 laptop to the Internet, but it doesn’t connect and returns the following error instead:

Error 651: The Modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error.

Cause

This error usually occurs because of some problem with the ISDN device driver.

Solution

The error, if it is due to ISDN device driver, can be easily resolved by updating the ISDN driver. However before you do that, we recommend you to ensure that the wireless is switched on. If you have done that, or if it is already on, but you still get the error, install the latest version of your ISDN device driver.

To do this, download the latest Windows updates and check if it contains an update for your ISDN device driver. If it does, install it. In case it doesn’t, install the latest ISDN device driver manually or use a driver update tool for this purpose. The latter, it must be said, is a more efficient, quick, and reliable way of updating device drivers, including the ISDN driver.

Error 651 is most likely to go away after you install the latest ISDN device driver.
