By Sushant Mehta on August 26, 2014

LG GH24NSB0 DVD Writer is contained inside the cabinet of your system. LG GH24NSB0 DVD errors can often be resolved quickly and easily and these solutions are set out in the post below.

Solution to Error: “Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)”

Common reasons for this problem include loose connections or missing/corrupt Software Drivers. Sometimes however, an update of your Operating System or the installation or removal of a DVD recording program can also be the cause.

When you see this error, the first thing you should do (if you feel confident to do so) is open the cabinet and check for any loose connections between your DVD writer and other system components (Power Supply Unit and SATA connection on your motherboard). Once you have confirmed the connecting wires are properly seated in their respective slots, perform the following steps.

Edit the Registry

Note: You should edit registry only if you are comfortable doing so and only after making a registry backup.

Follow the steps given below to edit the registry entry.

  1. Click on Start -> Run
  2. Type regedit to open Registry Editor
  3. Navigate to following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  1. In the right pane, Click on UpperFilters

(You should not attempt to modify or delete UpperFilter.bak registry entry)

  1. Right-click on the registry entry and select Delete
  2. Repeat the procedure for LowerFilters
  3. Restart the System

Uninstall and reinstall the DVD Writer

If the error persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling your DVD writer.

  1. Click Start and go to Control Panel
  2. Click System and Security
  3. Click Device Manager
  4. Click “+” sign in CD/DVD ROM drives to view the DVD writer.
  5. If the problem is related to Software Drivers, you will see an exclamation mark besides LG DVD Writer entry.
  6. Right-click the LG DVD Writer entry and select Uninstall.
  7. Click Ok to confirm removal of device
  8. Restart the system
  9. After restarting your system, Windows will detect your LG DVD Writer and recommend installing Drivers for the device.
  10. Insert the Driver CD that was provided with the device and let Windows install the driver from the CD.

Note: If you do not have the driver CD, click here to download a driver update tool.

If this does not solve your DVD Writer issue, try this resolution

Solution to Sapphire HD 7770 errors

By Sushant Mehta on August 12, 2014

Solution to “No AMD graphics driver installed or is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD software” error.

One of the primary reasons for this error is outdated Drivers. To resolve this error, you can go to the AMD website and download the latest Drivers for your Sapphire HD 7770 graphics card. If you cannot find the required Drivers, you could download a driver update tool and run a free Drivers Scan to check if this is indeed the problem.

“No AMD Graphics Driver Is Installed” Error Fixed

If updating the Drivers does not solve your problem, you may be required to disable “Digital Signature Requirement” forced on all systems running 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7.  Follow the steps below to disable “Digital Signature Requirement” in Windows.

  1. Click Start
  2. Go to All Programs -> Accessories
  3. Right-click Command Prompt and select “Run as administrator”

Type the following lines and press Enter after typing each line

  1. bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
  2. bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON
  3. Restart your computer.

The above mentioned commands will disable Digital Signature Requirement and Windows OS will load the available Drivers for your graphics card.

Solution for Error – STOP: 0x000000116 blue screen (BSOD) error

STOP: 0x000000116 error is generally related to your video card Drivers or problems with your video card. The first step towards resolving this error is updating Drivers for your graphics card. You can visit the AMD website and download Drives for your graphics card and then follow the steps given below. Again, if you cannot find the required Drivers you can use a driver update tool and run a free Drivers Scan to check if this is indeed the problem (you can then skip the steps below as the Drivers will automatically install and update)

  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel
  2. Go to Hardware and Sound
  3. Under Device and Printers, click Device Manager
  4. In Device Manager, click “+” to expand Display Adapters. You will see an entry for Sapphire HD 7770 graphics card.
  5. Right Click on your graphics card and select Update driver.

Windows system will initiate the driver update wizard and give you different options to update the device Drivers

  1. Choose “Browse my computer for driver software “
  2. Click “Next”
  3. Browse to the folder which has the latest Drivers for your graphics card and let windows install the Drivers.
  4. Restart the computer

If updating device drivers doesn’t solve the problem, uninstall all devices under “Display Adapters” in Device Manager. If you are unable to boot into windows, try going into Safe Mode and uninstall all devices and drivers related to Display Adapters. Uninstalling all devices under Displays Adapter forces Windows to detect and reinstall the video card.

  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel– > Hardware and Sound
  2. Under Device and Printers, click “Device Manager”
  3. In Device Manager Window, click “+” to expand Display Adapters. You will see an entry for Sapphire HD 7770 graphics card
  4. Right Click your graphics card and select Uninstall
  5. Restart the system

Windows will now detect the Sapphire HD 7770 as new hardware and initiate the new hardware installation wizard. When prompted for device drivers, select the manual option that lets you point towards the folder which has the latest Drivers.
