HDMI driver windows 10 issue (Solved)

By Susan C on February 25, 2020

After running a Windows 10 update or upgrading to Windows 10, you may find that the system refuses to detect TV. Many users have complained of facing this issue. The good news is that you can fix the issue with the solutions shared in this post.

The first thing you must do is make sure there’s no issue with HDMI port or the cable.

Unplug your TV and then plug it back to the HDMI port. Now, see if the issue is fixed.

Use another HDMI cable and check if that fixes the problem.

In many a case, the culprit was a broken or worn HDMI cable. If there’s no issue with cable or the HDMI port, we recommend try the two solutions mentioned below in the order they appear.

First Solution – Check your display output settings

If the display output settings are incorrect, the connected pc or laptop may not be able to detect the TV. Here are the steps you need to perform to check.

  • Right-click the desktop, and then click Personalize
  • Now click Display
  • Check whether the TV is appearing as the second monitor

In case you’re unable to see the TV on this screen, perform the steps shared ahead:

  • Simultaneously press Windows logo key + P
  • Now click Duplicate
  • Switch to Extend if the step given before doesn’t work
  • Now check if Windows is able to detect the TV

Second Solution – Update your graphics driver

It is very much possible that the cause of the error is some problem with your graphics driver. This usually happens when you don’t have the graphics card manufacturer’s driver but a generic one. You can solve the problem by getting the latest driver for the video card.

So how does one update the video card driver?

You can do this manually or automatically. The first step is tedious and complicated while the second one is as easy as one-two-three.

Update driver manually

Go to the video card manufacturer’s website, located the latest driver, and download it. Make sure that you download the driver that’s for your Windows system. For instance, if you use a 32-bit Windows 10, download a driver for 32-bit Windows.

Once you’ve downloaded the driver, double-click the installer file (it will be an .exe file) to install the driver. You may have to reboot Windows after installing the driver.

Update driver automatically

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
  • The tool picks the right drivers for your device and operating system, so you won’t have to worry about installing an incorrect driver by mistake
  • Automatic driver updates are 100% safe

Driver Updater is one of the best driver update tools out there. Outbyte Driver Updater will give you access to a database of over 1 million drivers. It will regularly scan your PC, suggesting new driver versions to install. Driver Updater contains drivers for a variety of Windows devices. With just one click, you can update drivers in your system.

Print Screen Not Working (Fixed)

By Susan C on February 21, 2020

Sometimes, Windows lets you down when you least expect it. For instance, many users have complained that their print screen key stops working when they try to take a screenshot.

Needless to say, this issue can cause much frustration. However, the good part is that it doesn’t take much to resolve the problem.

Wondering how? Well, continue reading…

Solution 1 – Update the keyboard driver

Quite often the culprit is an outdated or corrupt keyboard driver. While you can update it manually, we don’t recommend going that route. Not only the manual process is time-consuming, but it also requires a certain amount of technical knowledge.

A much easier, not to say faster, way to update drivers is to use a reliable driver update software. We recommend you try Driver Updater.

It has all the makings of a top-notch tool: speed, accuracy, and ease-of-use.

Click the link below to download the tool. Once you’ve downloaded and installed it, don’t forget to register yourself. Remember, only registered users enjoy automatic driver updates.

Solution 2 – See if your print screen key is enabled

It is possible that some keys may be preventing the print screen key from doing its job. To make sure that’s not the case, press the F Lock or F Mode key.

In case you don’t see either on your keyboard, move on to the next solution.

Solution 3 – Download the latest system updates

If your system is not up-to-date, you may get this error. Here are the steps you need to follow to check if there are any pending updates.

  • In the Start Search box, type Windows Update
  • Then click Windows Update or Check for Updates
  • If you find any updates for your system, install them
  • Restart Windows and check if the issue is resolved

Solution 4 – Stop all running programs

Sometimes other programs may interfere with the print key and prevent it from working.  Names of programs which other users have complained of interfering with the print key include OneDrive, Snipping tool, and Dropbox. If you’ve any of these running on your computer, stop them. Next, check if you’re now able to take a screenshot.

A simple workaround

You can try this simple workaround that has worked for many users. Press Alt + Fn + PrtScn keys instead of just PrtScn key to take a screenshot. Other combinations you can give a go are Fn + PrtScn and Alt + PrtScn.

Audio Services Not Responding in Windows 10 (Fixed)

By Susan C on February 17, 2020

Your Windows 10 is not playing any sound, and when you try to troubleshoot the issue, Windows 10 flashes a message that reads: Audio service not responding.

So what can you do now?

Well, this post is a good starting point. We’ll show you not one but three solutions to this problem.

Solution 1 – Reinstall the audio driver

As often as not, the error occurs because of outdated, incompatible, or faulty driver. The issue can get resolved once and for all if you reinstall the audio driver.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Right-click the Start button and then click Device Manager
  • In the Device Manager window, expand Sound, video and game controllers. Next, right-click the audio driver and then select Uninstall device
  • Click the Uninstall button

Once you’ve done that, then download and install a new driver.

You can do this manually or automatically. We’ve listed both steps; choose the one you like better.

Manual Option

Visit the audio car manufacturer’s site and locate the latest drivers for Windows 10. Make sure that the selected driver matches your variant of Windows 10. That is to say, if you use 32-bit Windows 10, the shortlisted driver should be for 32-bit Windows 10, not 64-bit.

Once you’ve found the correct driver, download and install it.

Automatic Option

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
  • The tool picks the right drivers for your device and operating system, so you won’t have to worry about installing an incorrect driver by mistake
  • Automatic driver updates are 100% safe

Driver Updater is one of the best driver update tools out there. Outbyte Driver Updater will give you access to a database of over 1 million drivers. Step 2

Step 3

Solution 2 – Restart the audio services

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Press the Windows key and R simultaneously to launch the run dialog box
  • Now type services.msc and then click the OK button
  • In the right pane, locate Windows Audio service, right-click it, and then select Restart
  • Again right-click Windows Audio and then select Properties
  • In the Windows Audio Properties dialog box, use the drop-down menu to set the Startup type as Automatic. Click the Apply button and then the OK button
  • Now again go to Services window. Locate and right-click Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and then select Restart (Note: If you see the Restart option is grayed out, that means this service is not running. Therefore, you will have to click Start in place of Restart)
  • Again right-click Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and then select Properties
  • In the properties dialog box, use the drop-down menu to set the Startup type as Automatic. Click the Apply button and then the OK button
  • Now check if you’re able to hear some sound

Solution 3 – Ensure Windows Audio components are running

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Press Windows key and R simultaneously
  • In the Run dialog box, type services.msc and press the OK button
  • Check if these three Windows Audio components are running
    • DCOM Server Process Launcher
    • RPC Endpoint Mapper
    • Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
