My Cursor Disappears on Windows 10 (Fixed)

By Susan C on February 12, 2020

After upgrading Windows, many users have complained about vanishing mouse cursor or pointer. This issue often also crops up after you wake your Windows computer from the sleep mode.

In this post, we show you two ways to fix the error.

Solution 1 – Re-enable the mouse

It’s possible that Windows disabled your mouse while the upgrade was running or the sleep mode was on. If that’s the case, you can’t use the mouse and won’t even see the cursor on the screen. Re-enabling the mouse, as you may guess, will do the trick.

You can re-enable the mouse in two ways:

Laptop users need to press the combination key that turns on or turns off the mouse. Typically, the combination is the Fn key and F11, F9, F5, or F3.

Another way to enable the mouse is to use mouse settings. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Press Win key, next type “mouse”. When the Mouse Settings appears on your screen, highlight it using up or down arrow key
  • Next in Mouse Settings, use the Tab key on the keyboard to highlight Additional mouse options
  • Next in Mouse Properties, use the Tab key to highlight Buttons
  • Now using the right arrow key open Device Settings
  • Next in case the mouse is disabled, use the Tab key to highlight the Enable button and then press the Enter key

Solution 2: Update the mouse driver

The problem could be due to faulty or missing mouse driver. To fix the issue, use a reliable driver download software to update the mouse driver. We recommend you go with Driver Updater – it is fast, reliable and you get 30-day money back guarantee.

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

Windows Hello isn’t available on this device (Solved)

By Susan C on February 6, 2020

Getting “Windows Hello isn’t available on this device” error?

Don’t worry. This is a common error and one that’s fairly easy to solve.

In this post, we show you how to get rid of this error once and for all.

Before we start, let’s find what exactly Windows Hello is.

Windows Hello – What is it?

This program makes it possible for you to log in into your Windows system using your iris, face, or fingerprints instead of a password or a pin. However, to be able to do that, you must have a working webcam as well as a finger scanner.

Windows extended this feature to websites and apps with Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

How to fix the issue?

Here are three solutions to fix the problem.

Step 1 – Update Your PC

The first thing you need to do is ensure all recent updates have been installed for Windows 10. Also, ensure you have all the important patches.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Press Windows Logo Key and I simultaneously. Next, click on Update & Security
  • Now you need to click Check for updates. If Windows find any updates, install them.

Now perform the next step.

Step 2 – Enable Biometric from Administration

Without administrator’s permission, you are unlikely to be able to use Windows Hello. Here’s how you can fix it.

  • Press Windows Logo Key and R simultaneously. Now in the Run box, type gpedit.msc and then click the OK button
  • Go to  Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components. Next, in the right pane double-click the option Allow the use of biometrics
  • Now check the Enabled option in the next screen. Click the Apply button and then the OK button.
  • Reboot Windows

Step 3  – Update the Fingerprint Device Driver

An outdated, corrupt or faulty fingerprint device driver will make using the hardware next to impossible. Here’s how you can update the driver.

  • Press Windows Logo Key and X simultaneously
  • Click Device Manager
  • Now on the top bar, click the icon for scan for hardware changes
  • Next expand Biometric devices. Now right-click your fingerprint device and then select Uninstall
  • Next, reboot Windows. Upon restart, Windows will automatically load the correct driver

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
  • The tool picks the right drivers for your device and operating system, so you won’t have to worry about installing an incorrect driver by mistake

Taskbar not Hiding (Solved)

By Susan C on February 6, 2020

Want to show full screen in Windows 10, but aren’t able to hide the taskbar even after enabling auto-hide?

If yes, you’re not alone.

Many users have complained about this issue. The good part is that you can resolve this once and for all easily and quickly.

So let’s dig right in.

Check Taskbar Setting

Those of you who have set the taskbar to hide automatically can skip this step. If you’ve not done this, follow these steps to check the setting of the taskbar.

  • Right-click anywhere on taskbar. Next select Settings in context menu
  • Desktop users must ensure Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode is selected. On the other hand, those using a laptop need to ensure Automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode is turned on

Restart Windows Explorer

All the Metro applications will restart when you reboot Windows. This step can help temporarily resolve the problem. In case the issue resurfaces, you’ll need to attempt the next solution.

Here are the steps to restart Windows Explorer:

  • Right-click anywhere on taskbar. Next click Task Manager
  • Locate and choose Windows Explorer under the Process tab. Next click the Restart button

Attempt this Workaround

Many users were able to fix the said issue once and for all using this workaround. That’s why it’s worth a shot if you’ve not been yet able to get rid of the problem. Since the workaround is easy-to-perform, there’s no reason why you should not give it a try.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Click the Search button in taskbar. In case you see a Search box instead of the Search button, click the box
  • Next once the search window pops up on your screen, simply click anywhere on desktop so that the search window vanishes. Once that happens, the taskbar would automatically get hidden and stay that way.
