By Sushant Mehta on October 31, 2016

One of the more common problems with Samsung wireless printers, as with most wireless printers, is a connectivity issue. The steps below will help you resolve these connectivity issues in Samsung Wireless Printers.

Before you start with any troubleshooting steps, check whether the Samsung Printer and the router are ON. The next step is to check whether the wireless adapter driver is correctly installed. Here are the steps you need to follow for this:

  1. Click Start button on the Desktop
  2. Type Device Manager in the Search Box
  3. Select Device Manager from the list
  4. Go to Network Adapters and look for any entry with a yellow exclamation mark next to it
  5. If you see a yellow exclamation mark then right-click on the Wireless Adapter and select uninstall
  6. Download and install the latest Wireless Adapter Driver for your printer model from the Samsung website
  7. Install the Driver and reboot the system
  8. Check whether your Samsung Printer is able to connect to your router

If there is no Wireless Adapter installed for your printer, you need set an ad-hoc wireless connection between your Samsung Printer and router. To do this, follow the instructions below.

The minimum requirements to set up ad-hoc wireless connection without using the USB cable are: A Windows 7 PC or higher, a router/access point , software CD provided by Samsung and a Samsung printer installed with wireless interface.

How to manually update Samsung Drivers

Steps to install ad-hoc wireless printer connection

  1. Turn on all three devices: your PC, router and Samsung wireless printer
  2. Insert the software CD into your CD-ROM drive
  3. Click Start > Accessories > Programs > Run
  4. Click on E:Setup.exe where E is the drive letter of CD-ROM
  5. Accept all installation agreements and click Next
  6. In the Printer Connection type window, select Wireless network connection
  7. Click Next
  8. On the “Are you setting up your printer for the first time?” screen, click Yes
  9. On the “Select the Wireless Setup Method” screen, select Using a direct wireless connection
  10. Click Next
  11. When the “Press WPS button on your printer” screen appears, press the WPS button on your printer
  12. When the wireless network setup process is completed, click Next
  13. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process

If you are still facing connectivity issues, print a network configuration report of your printer.

  1. Click Start > Settings
  2. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  3. Right-click your Samsung printer and select printer properties
  4. Click the Port tab
  5. Click Configure Port button
  6. Check the printers IP address
  7. The IP address should be same as IP address on the configuration sheet. If the IP address is different, change the printer’s IP port address.

Try these 2 simple registry tweaks to speed up Windows 10!

By Sushant Mehta on October 20, 2016

Want more speed from your Windows 10 laptop? Here are a few registry tweaks that can enhance the performance of your Windows 10 system.

Speed up the Startup apps during launch

Microsoft engineers have programmed a small delay in Startup apps at launch.  You can disable this startup delay of the Startup apps and get faster access to them.  You do this by tweaking the registry. Only do this if you feel confident making registry edits and of course make a restore point. Here are the steps you need to follow to disable the startup delay:

  1. Go to Start
  2. Type Regedit in the Search box
  3. Select Regedit in the list of search results and open the Registry Editor
  4. Navigate to – HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerSerialize
  5. In the right panel, right click on the “StartupDelayInMSec” key
  6. Modify the value to “0”
  7. If the Serialize or the StartupDelayInMSec key doesn’t exist, you need to create it by following the steps given below
  8. Right click in the window Explorer and select New > Key
  9. Name it as Serialize
  10. Right click on Serialize and select create a new DWORD value called “StartupDelayInMSec”
  11. Set its value to “0”

Hide Unwanted Folders from This PC view

Since Windows 8.1, folders like Desktop, documents, pictures, music, videos and downloads are displayed along with other drives in This PC view. This is an undesirable and even annoying feature for many and it also causes a delay in accessing the drives, as you cannot access the drives until windows explorer finishes loading every default folder. The best thing to do is disable the display of folders and get faster access to the drives. A registry tweak is all you need to achieve this. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Open the Registry editor
  2. You need to make 6 registry key edits to remove all 6 folders from ThisPC view
  3. To remove the Desktop folder navigate to
  4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ FolderDescriptions\{B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-B029-7FE99A87C641}\PropertyBag
  5. In the right-hand panel, look for ThisPCPolicy. Right-click on it and change the value of the key to “Hide”
  6. Follow similar steps to remove all remaining 5 folders. go to keys one by one and change the ThisPCPolicy value to Hide
  • For the Music folder navigate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ FolderDescriptions\ {a0c69a99-21c8-4671-8703-7934162fcf1d}\PropertyBag

  • For the Pictures folder navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ FolderDescriptions\ {0ddd015d-b06c-45d5-8c4c-f59713854639}\PropertyBag

  • For the Videos folder navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ FolderDescriptions\ {35286a68-3c57-41a1-bbb1-0eae73d76c95}\PropertyBag

  • For the Downloads folder navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ FolderDescriptions\ {7d83ee9b-2244-4e70-b1f5-5393042af1e4}\PropertyBag

  • For the Documents folder navigate to:
