How to update Epson DS-30 driver?

By Susan C on June 6, 2024

Light-weight, portable, and comprehensive business scanning capabilities are just some of the features that the Epson WorkForce DS-30 scanner offers. This travel-friendly scanner comes with an easy-to-carry case, making it a good fit for professionals on the move. The Epson DS-30 can scan 8.5×11-inch document in roughly 19.5 seconds, which is pretty impressive indeed, considering it is Epson’s first foray into still portable scanner niche.

However, to get the best performance out of your Espon DS-30, there’s one thing you need — an appropriate and up-to-date scanner driver. Think of a device driver as a program or software that controls and operates a particular kind of device attached to your computer. In simpler terms, a device driver does the work of an adept translator, ensuring your computer and the device in question can communicate with each other, and consequently work in perfect harmony.

Precisely for this reason, it is important to keep your device drivers up-to-date. If you want your Epson DS-30 to deliver great performance, you must give it one thing that it needs to do just that — the latest compatible driver.

Device drivers are updated on a regular basis, and Epson DS-30 driver is no exception. Regular driver updates ensure complete compatibility with all the latest system changes. New driver versions also frequently improve performance of the related device and add new features. What’s more, Epson DS-30 driver updates help plug in known bugs or issues that might slow down or disrupt the scanning process, leading to loss of productivity.

The importance of having the latest Epson DS-30 drivers cannot be overstated, but updating drivers can sometimes look like a complicated process, particularly is you are not very tech-savvy. Locating the right driver, downloading it, and then properly installing it can be a lot of work, especially for people who have little experience of updating drivers manually. All the same, updating drivers is an absolutely unavoidable step if you want seamless performance from your Epson DS-30.

What Role Does Epson DS-30 Driver Play?

Optimal Functionality – The device driver optimizes your scanner’s performance, helping unlock each of its features. This, in turn, ensures the scanner operates efficiently and smoothly.

Compatibility Assurance – The device driver makes sure the computer and the scanner work seamlessly, regardless of any changes to your operating system or any system updates.

Feature Utilization – Having the latest Epson DS-30 driver allows you to use advanced settings and enjoy custom scans.

Resolve Conflicts – The correct driver version can resolve and prevent conflicts that may occur between the Epson scanner and other devices.

If you don’t have the correct driver, a number of issues can crop up. While some of them could be merely annoying, others could be considerably disruptive.

Reduced Functionality – Some of the Epson DS-30 scanner’s features might not be accessible to you.

Error Messages – You may encounter frequent errors, which could mean communication breakdown between the PC and scanner.

Non-Detection – It is also possible that your PC may not recognize the scanner at all, completely preventing you from using it.

System Instability – Often, the root cause of computer freeze-ups and crashes is an outdated device driver.

How to Update Epson DS-30 Driver?

Ensuring your Epson scanner’s driver is up to date helps ensure the scanner delivers optimal efficiency all the time. Follow the steps discussed below to update the scanner’s drivers.

Locating the latest driver

First of all, identify and download the right version of the Epson DS-30 driver. You can find the latest driver on the Epson official website.

Go to this webpage. From the drop-down menu on your screen, select the version of Windows you use. Now all the compatible downloads will be visible on the page. Find and download the newest driver version.

It’s necessary you download the driver which corresponds to your operating system. For example, if you use a Windows 10 32-bit computer, you should download a driver built for Windows 10 32-bit PCs, not 64-bit.

Install the driver

Once you’ve downloaded and saved the driver file on your computer, it’s time for the next phase — installation.

First, locate the downloaded driver file. Usually, it will be present in the ‘Downloads’ folder (unless you specifically opted for a different location).

Now, double-click the setup file. Doing so will automatically launch the installation wizard.

Simply follow the instructions that flash on your screen. Before installation begins or during it, you might be prompted to connected the Epson DS-30 scanner to your Windows PC (in case it is disconnected).

Once the installation is complete, click the Finish button.

You may have to restart the PC for changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting Tips

While the driver installation process should go smoothly, if you encounter some problem, the following tips might help:

Run as Administrator: In case the installation fails to start, right-click the driver software setup file and then choose ‘Run as administrator’.

Disable the Antivirus Software Temporarily: It has been noted that at times security software interferes with the installation of a driver. A simple yet practical workaround is to disable the software for the time it takes to install the driver and then turn it back on.

Check connection: Make sure the scanner is connected properly to the PC. Faulty ports or cables can prevent a successful installation.

Reboot & Try again: In case everything else fails, reboot the system and try installing the driver again.

After you’ve installed the Epson driver, the Epson DS-30 should run smoothly and deliver top performance, regardless of the scanning job you throw at it.

If installing the Epson DS-30 driver manually sounds like a lot of work, we recommend you go for an advanced driver update software, such as DriverUpdater. It can automate the driver installation process, meaning you can update Epson scanner driver and other drivers with just a few clicks. The link to download the DriverUpdater is shared at the end of the post.

Troubleshooting Common Scanning Issues

In this section, we have listed some common scanning issues and errors and their DIY fixes.

Poor scan quality: First, open the settings section and check whether any settings that might impact the resolution is turned on. If not, then make sure scanner glass doesn’t have any dust or smudges.

Slow scanning: Lowering the resolution may improve scanning speed, as may closing any software that’s consuming a lot of system resources

Computer not recognizing the scanner: Check if the cable is in good condition, disconnect it and reconnect, use another USB port, or reboot Windows

Error messages: The most common cause of error messages is driver-related problems. Make sure you are using the latest DS-30 driver.

As said above, the easiest and fastest way to update device drivers is by using a good driver update software tool, such as Driver Updater.

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
  • The tool picks the right drivers for your device and operating system, so you won’t have to worry about installing an incorrect driver by mistake
  • Automatic driver updates are 100% safe

The Complete Guide to Improving FPS in PUBG for Free

By Susan C on June 6, 2024

The Complete Guide to Improving FPS in PUBG for Free

FPS Drop is one issue that many people face while playing PUBG. In this post, we’ll look at six common ways to add some extra FPS in PUBG. So, let’s dive right in.

Solution #1 – Meet the Recommended System Requirements

It’s common for modern games to have minimum system requirements. If they aren’t met, these games don’t run properly.

Well, guess what? PUBG is no exception to this general rule.

So, if you want better performance, you got to ensure your PC meets all the recommended system requirements, which are as follows:

Operating System: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7 (64-bit)

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 / Intel Core i5-6600k

Storage: 30 GB available space

DirectX: Version 11

Network: Broadband Internet Connection

Solution #2 – Get Rid of Unused Files

For many gamers, removing the temporary and Prefetch files has improved the gaming experience. Removing these files is not difficult at all and worth a try if you want to boost FPS in PUBG freely.

Here’s what you need to do:

Open the Run dialog box by pressing Win + R keys

  • Type prefetch and press the OK button (or hit Enter)
  • Now press Ctrl + A keys to select all folders and files in the Prefetch folder. Then right-click and select the Delete option
  • Next, press Win + R to launch the Run dialog box again

Type temp and press the OK button (or hit Enter)

  • Delete all the files in this folder
  • Press Win + R once more and type %temp% and press the OK button. Delete all the files you see in temp folder

Open PUBG and check if FPS has improved

Solution #3 – Adjust the Power Options

Setting the power plan to Power or Balanced saver mode may negatively affect the graphic card’s operating capacity. To fix the FPS issue in PUGB, we recommend switching to high performance.

  • Press Win + R keys to launch Run dialog box
  • Type control powercfg.cpl and then press the OK button
  • Click Show additional plans and then choose High performance

  • Press Win + E keys to launch File Explorer. Right-click This PC, choose Properties, and click Advanced system settings
  • Click the Advanced tab and then click the Settings button below Performance

  • Select Adjust for best performance, click Apply and then OK

Solution #4 – Change Nvidia Settings

What else can you do to give FPS a boost in PUBG? In case you use a Nvidia graphics card, follow these steps to change certain settings:

  • Open Nvidia Control Panel (click the icon in the Taskbar, if present; or right-click on the desktop and choose Nvidia Control Panel)
  • In the left pane, expand 3D Settings and then click Manage 3D Settings
  • Click Power management mode in the right pane and then choose Prefer Maximum Performance (scroll down if you don’t immediately see this setting)

  • If you use G-Sync Monitors, scroll down further and turn off the Vertical sync feature
  • Expand Display, choose Change Resolution, and ensure it is listed as native. Next, set Refresh rate to its maximum
  • If you use a G-Sync Monitor, look for Set Up G-Sync in the left pane and then choose Enable G-Sync. Click the Apply button

Solution #5 – Update the Driver for your Graphics Card

An outdated or corrupt device driver could also lead to performance issues with PUBG. Therefore, we strongly recommend updating the driver for your graphics card if nothing else has worked.

There are two ways to update graphics card driver: manually, using the Device Manager utility or automatically, using a reliable driver software.

The second method is not only easier and faster, but it also is more reliable. That said, there’s nothing with updating device drivers manually, but just keep in mind that the entire process could be time-consuming and require certain amount of technical knowledge. If you are not tech-savvy or are very busy, we recommend you use a driver update software.

How to Update Graphics Card Manually

  • Press Win + R to launch the Run utility
  • Type devmgmt.msc and press the OK button (or hit Enter) to launch the Device Manager utility
  • In the Device Manager window, expand Display adapters. The graphics card you are using will be displayed here. Right-click it and choose Update driver

  • In the next window, select the first option, Search automatically for drivers

  • Windows will search for the latest device driver and install it. Follow on-screen prompts if any
  • Restart Windows after the installation is complete

How to Update Graphics Card Driver Automatically

To update the graphics card driver automatically, we recommend you use Driver Updater. It is one of the best driver update tool and can update all the outdated device drivers in just few minutes.

Why My iPhone Keeps Connecting & Disconnecting When Plugged In

By Susan C on June 1, 2024

Why My iPhone Keeps Connecting & Disconnecting When Plugged In

A recent issue (but thankfully not a very serious one) that has cropped up with the iPhone is that it keeps on connecting and disconnecting when it is plugged in. What’s more, this issue is something that iPad users are facing too. Whether you are an iPhone or iPad user (or both), this post is just for you.

How to Fix the Issue of iPhone Connecting & Disconnecting

The first thing to understand is that this issue can occur due to a number of reasons. So, a solution that may work for one user may not work for another. But that’s not something to worry about, because we’ve listed all common solutions (and we’re pretty sure one of them will do the trick for you).

Run a Cable Check

The USB cable you’re using to connect the iPhone or iPad to a Mac or PC might be causing the issue. A broken cable, while still usable in many instances, could cause connection issues. So, go ahead and check if it has any noticeable cracks. If so, grab a new cable and use it for connecting the iPhone. Is the problem fixed now? If no, try the next solution in the list.

Check the USB ports

USB ports are typically very reliable, but that doesn’t mean they can’t develop any issues. Simply connect a difference device to exact port you were using for connecting your iPhone. Is the new device’s connection breaking intermittently too? If yes, use another port for connecting your iPhone.

If there’s no issue with the USB port, perhaps the problem lies with the iPhone’s cable jack. Connect the device to its charger and see if the same is occurring there as well. In that case, take it to a nearby authorized service center.

Check iOS Device Settings

When it comes to managing your content over different technologies, there’s simply no match for Apple devices. Thanks to iTunes and iCloud services, you can easily access your content from any Apple gadget. These services also help prevent the privacy of your content. However, the additional built-in privacy protection could cause issues if you are connecting it to a new device.

To fix the issue, perform the following steps:

  • Go to your iPhone’s Settings and select General

  • Scroll down until you see the Reset option

  • Once you have opened the Reset screen, choose Reset Location and Privacy

  • Enter your passcode/pin to reset the settings and then click Reset
  • Connect the iPhone to the computer, accept all prompts that appear on your screen

If the issue still persists, move on to the next solution.

Upgrade iTunes

Sometimes, the issue can occur due to an outdated iTunes version. The solution is to update the iTunes, software.

  • Click Help menu
  • Select Check for Updates
  • Follow the on-screen prompts

Is the iPhone still getting connected and disconnected frequently?

In case none of the above solutions has worked for you, it’s possible there’s a device failure. Those trying to connect the iPhone through a USB port to a Windows system should check if the Device Manager is showing an error with a USB device.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Press Win+R to open the Run dialog box
  • Type devmgmgt.msc to launch Device Manager
  • All the hardware devices will appear here; Scroll through the list till you come across the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section
  • Expand this section and check if any of the attached devices have a yellow exclamation mark against it or is showing a failure

  • If there’s a device failure, right-click the device and choose Properties
  • Click the Driver tab and then click the Update Driver button
  • Follow the on-screen prompts

Remember that hardware drivers can become outdated. While it’s certainly possible to manually update outdated drivers, the process is anything but simple. The easiest way to keep your device drivers up-to-date is by using a reliable and advanced driver update software. We recommend you give DriverUpdater a try.

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
