Malware spammed out widely posing as income tax email

By Sushant Mehta on March 1, 2013

A Trojan horse has been recently identified as posing as a tax-return related email. The aim of this malware campaign is to trick users into opening it. This dubious tax-return related email is accompanied with a zip file, which will carry your name. For instance if your email id is samantha@example.com, the name of the zip will be samantha.zip. Inside this zip file will be an executable file. Once you click the executable file, the malware will take control of your pc, allowing its writer to access your computer remotely. You can safeguard yourself against this backdoor Trojan horse and other malware by installing an advanced antivirus tool and scanning downloaded files before running them.

Fix missing Driver errors

By Sushant Mehta on February 28, 2013

Missing or ‘Driver not found’ errors are among the most common computer errors. They are also quite easy to resolve. These errors, in most cases, occur when:

  • You are missing a driver
  • You are using an outdated driver
  • Your device driver is corrupt

Whatever the cause of the error, you can fix it by installing the latest version of the driver for the device with which you are getting the error. There are two ways of installing device drivers—manually and automatically.

You can install drivers manually via Device Manager. Alternately, you can download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website and run the executable file. To update drivers automatically, use a driver update tool. Such tools offer a quick, effective, and reliable way of installing new drivers and keeping them up-to-date.
