HP Printer LaserJet Drivers

By DriversExpert on April 15, 2015

If you have a HP LaserJet Printer, then you must have the appropriate HP LaserJet Drivers installed for it to work properly.

What does the HP Printer LaserJet Driver Do?

Like all Device Drivers, HP LaserJet Drivers facilitate communication between your PC and the HP Printer itself. Without these Drivers the Operating System and device have no way to communicate with each other. Similarly, if you instal the incorrect Drivers, this communication will be affected.

My HP LaserJet Printer is printing random characters

If your HP printer appears to be printing random characters on the page, then you most likely have the incorrect Drivers installed.

The Printer Driver specifies various characteristics of the printer including the PDL or Page Description Language. There are two popular Page Description Languages used by most LaserJet printers, these are:

  1. Adobe PostScript (PS) and
  2. Hewlett-Packard Printer Control Language (PCL)

If you have installed an incorrect Printer Driver, your PC will send print commands in the wrong Page Description Language. This will appear as jumbled letters but it is actually the commands from the PC to the Printer being printed without the necessary translation they would get if using the correct Page Description Language.

It is important to use the right Driver for the right Printer. If you are unsure of the exact HP Printer Driver you require, you can click here to view a list of driver update tools . Most of these tools will allow you to run a free drivers scan of your PC, this scan will tell you the exact Drivers you require based on your system and devices (plug in your printer while running the scan).

Error Code 20 – Insufficient Memory

This error code can be the result of attempting to print a document that is too complex (in terms of graphics, fonts etc.) for the memory available in the printer. It can also however, result from incorrect Printer Drivers which can incorrectly over-inflate the size of the document, resulting in an insufficient memory error. In the case of the latter you will need to update your LaserJet Printer Drivers.

Error Code 21 – Page Too Complex

As with error code 20, error code 21 can result from memory deficiency or inappropriate Printer Drivers.

If you are unsure of whether or not the fault is with your Printer Drivers, you should run a Drivers Scan to check if you have the correct Drivers installed, if you do have the appropriate Drivers then your problem is most likely with the printer itself. Take note of any error codes as these will help you track down the problem and possible solutions.

Multimedia Audio Controller Driver

By DriversExpert on April 7, 2015

A Multimedia Audio Controller Driver enables your Operating System (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Vista) to communicate with your audio output devices (Speakers, microphones, headphones etc.)

We get a lot of questions about problems with Multimedia Audio Controller Drivers so decided to summarise the most common questions along with solutions to these audio problems and some troubleshooting tips.

Missing Multimedia Audio Controller

I upgraded my Operating System and am now having problems with my audio/ sound devices. I have checked the Device Manager and there is a yellow triangle next to the Multimedia Audio Controller. I have tried to search for the Audio Controller Drivers online but cannot find the right ones.

Solution to missing Multimedia Audio Controller Drivers:

If you cannot find the original Drivers you can contact the manufacturer via their website to see if you can get them there. Alternatively, you can install a driver update tool and run a free Drivers Scan of your PC. This will tell you the exact Drivers you need. You can then register the software to opt for automatic Driver Updates.

‘No Audio Device is installed’ error

I had a problem with my Windows hard-drive and lots of programs and files have become corrupted. Now I cannot hear any sound from my PC, I have PCI Multimedia Audio Device

Solution to ‘No Audio Device is installed’ error

Check the Device Manager first (under Sound, Video and Game Controllers), make sure that the audio device is not just disabled. If the audio device is showing in the Device Manager (and ‘enabling’ it does not work), then do the following:

  1. Go to the Windows Start menu
  2. In the Search box type services.msc and hit return
  3. This will take you to the Services Manager and you need to scroll down to Windows Audio
  4. The status of Windows Audio should read Started and the Startup Type should read Automatic
  5. If the entries are different you will need to change them by right-clicking on Windows Audio and selecting Properties, change the properties and save

If the Device Manager does not show the Audio Device, then you will need to reinstall your multimedia Audio Controller Driver. You can either search the manufacturers website or download a driver update tool.

Automatic driver update tools offer many benefits, the most important ones being:

  • You can update device drivers automatically
  • The software scans and updates all outdated or missing drivers at one go
  • The tool picks the right drivers for your device and operating system, so you won’t have to worry about installing an incorrect driver by mistake
  • Automatic driver updates are 100% safe

Driver Updater is one of the best driver update tools out there. Outbyte Driver Updater will give you access to a database of over 1 million drivers. It will regularly scan your PC, suggesting new driver versions to install. Driver Updater contains drivers for a variety of Windows devices. With just one click, you can update drivers in your system.

Step 1
Click here to Install and launch the app

Step 2
Scan all devices

Step 3

What To Expect with Windows 10

By DriversExpert on March 11, 2015

Windows 10 is already on the horizon, and with it comes many technological changes and improvements. Unlike the switch from Vista to Windows 7 or 8, where everything was unfamiliar and you had to relearn the interface, Windows 10 builds from the current Windows 8 look so that you instantly know what you’re working with.

If you missed the Start menu, you won’t for much longer since it will return with Windows 10. If you’re the type of person to accidentally forget to update your computer because you’re so busy, Windows 10 has you covered, as it automatically downloads and installs the most necessary updates.

The apps feature from Windows 8 was a catchy one, and it returns with the new Windows 10. Now you can get the most recent version of Microsoft Office as well as any other apps that you want and download these right to your desktop. Whether you want fun apps like music players or games or you need practical ones like news and weather, you can find a Windows 10 app that works for you.

Cortana has been all the rage since debuting. This digital assistant recognizes your voice commands and works hard to find you whatever information you need, ranging from the best restaurants in town to which dry cleaners are open after work. If you already own a Windows smartphone or mobile device, you can sync it up to your Windows 10 laptop or computer and use Cortana across these devices. Quite a handy feature!

Similarly, if you already own an Xbox 360 or Xbox One gaming console, you certainly need to use the Xbox on Windows feature offered to Windows 10 users. You can sync up your current game progress from your console to your computer and vice-versa. You can even challenge your friends to a game.

One of the most impressive Windows 10 features is Microsoft HoloLens. Hologram technology is relatively new for everyday consumers, but when you update to Windows 10, you will have the opportunity to enjoy such technology using Windows 10 in conjunction with a Microsoft HoloLens device. These holograms will allow you to do such practical things as virtually place items such as furniture in a room, something companies such as IKEA are bound to jump on in the future. Ideal for gamers, designers, and other creative types, imagine playing Minecraft in your living room – building worlds all around you rather than just on a screen?

Windows 10 has yet to be fully released, but it will be sometime in 2015. However, you can upgrade your Windows with a technical preview of Windows 10 through Microsoft’s website. If you already own a device that runs Windows 7 or Windows 8 or 8.1, you can get Windows 10 for free for up to one year after its official release.
