CVARS is a cooperative effort between the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Its aim is an improved national data system of all crashes involving commercial motor vehicles and a new national analytical data system similar to FARS
