Terrorist attack: FBI starts check on HAZMAT licenses

HAZMAT license

The FBI has begun a massive check on the record of drivers licensed to carry hazardous materials. This was announced in the media on Wednesday after U.S. Attorney general John Ashcroft revealed that several individuals linked to the September 11 hijackers had either sought or held licenses to transport hazardous materials.

A CNN article says that the FBI is compiling a list of companies licensed by the Department of Transportation to handle hazardous chemicals and similar cargo, and plan to search each company's records to check out employees licensed to drive those tankers and trucks.End of Article
