Speed cameras catch innocent drivers

A vicar "caught speeding" in London, England while delivering a sermon in Wales, and a Scottish dairy worker who received numerous tickets for speeding with his milk float are among the victims of a speed camera system that is flawed, according to Britain's Automobile Association. Both computer and human error are responsible for an increasing number of drivers wrongfully accused of speeding. The AA is demanding changes in a system it says is not working the way it should.

Meanwhile, police are insisting that there are only a small number of errors. "No system is perfect," says Peter Shipley, head of the Association of Chief Police Officers. We do not believe there has been an increase in the problem of the magnitude described by the AA." Read the BBC article . End of Article

Maybe you got a ticket for going thru a red! anyway, if you were not speding you should not get a ticket. just wait a few weeks to see if you really get one and if you did then go to court

I'm pretty sure I was 'snapped' by a speed camera today - about an hour or so ago.

Thing is, I was only doing 30, and in fact had just put my foot on the brake, as I saw (I think) the flash, as there was a crossing just ahead, and the light was red.

How long do they have to send you the fine, and can you insist on going to Court?

Please can someone help - I never speed, and am now worried to death?!

Good point, if everyone maintained the flow, traffic would be able to move along nicely.

Brian, on Wednesday, 13. June 2007 at 08:22 AM

Maybe what they should really be doing is catching drivers who are out of sync with the traffic - such as slow drivers in the left lane, fast drivers in the slow lanes, drivesr who cut in and out. After all its drivers who dont fit in with the flow who cause the most problems.

This is gay, they should have cameras to catch slow drivers in the left lane instead
