Passing on the right at traffic light

Discussions: Aggressive Driving (+ Road Rage): Passing on the right at traffic light
By pete on Friday, April 30, 2004 - 01:08 am:

At an intersection there were 3 cars stopped on the left, towards the middle of the street, with the apparent intention of turning left. The traffic light was green and I proceeded along moving on their right. As I was moving towards the traffic light, the second car turned right, impacting my left rear door. The cars in front of me were stationary and the car which impacted me turned into my way. I did not notice any blinker on, otherwise I would have allowed the driver to move into my path out of courtesy. In any case he changed direction unsafely without paying attention to what was happening outside his vehicle. At the end I earned a ticket and some damage. Is it my fault?

Hope you are ok Pete,
from the information you gave the accident WAS NOT YOUR FAULT! However if any more facts that you did not mention need to be looked at and what you had said at the time of the accident to the officer, I had to read you question a few times to really understand what you had stated. If you where just driving in the number two lane of a three lane highway that is the driving lane and for right turns, or was it worded that you drove around the other vehicles on the right (meaning off the road?) then that is a violation. Need more information and where are you located.
