What I don't understand is they send us school bus drivers off to safety meetings, we are forced to go for physicals, and watched like hawks for the least mistakes we may make, should we be on our best guard at all times, playing it nice and safe or else....somebody will tell. Yet, these same motorists , so 'concerned with safety' practice 'UNSAFE' road maneuvers to get around us, and don't really care how they endanger anybody's life aboard that school bus. Explain that!

I know what you mean Tim Tiny, I drive one of those too.
Do any of you really care about safety, by the unsafe way you handle your own vehicle? Next time you call in to complain, tell the truth of how upset you were that the bus driver didn't exceed the speed limit for you, or used a directional to merge onto the highway, and just DID HER JOB! Unless you can drive safely, don't pretend to be so concerned with the safe driving of someone who is actually a very SAFE DRIVER!!!

Isn't it awful? And unlawful? Where are the cops when these mindless motorists drive reckless around a 'SCHOOL BUS?' They HATE us! All because we're doing our job, obeying the law, and making $$$$
I often wonder if they put their own children on vehicles they target for releasing their frustrations?? It really is OUT OF CONTROL and INSANE behavior. Again, where are the cops to catch the bad guys? Wouldn't it be nice to place video cameras on our dashboards and capture the show they put on? Then let the police watch it to believe it. I'm tired of being terrorized and harassed as I drive.

Why NOT put video cameras on your dash? The cops sometimes do.

I read that if your cars cruise control is set and it is raining that if you hydroplane your car can take off like an airplane. "From the Texas Highway patrol!" would someone explain this to me? My understanding is that if you are hydroplaning your car is on top of the water not getting traction. So how is the car going to take off? I just really dont get it. No matter how fast your car increases its wheels spinning it is still going to just be on top of the water not getting traction. So I do not believe this theory. If I am wrong please explain this to me. Thank you

Dear Randy,
The word hydroplane means water and plane what do you not understand? Because your tires are not on the road where traction is needed your cruise control will is spinning your tires faster and faster and because you will not be airborn your whole trip driving, when you do touch ground your cruise control will be going so fast that you will be thrown out of control and thus crashing after flipping the only thing that can stop you at this point is a solid object. This is also just as dangerous on icey roads, any time you do not have traction on day roads is when you do not use cruise control. Also once you do not have traction for your car is when accidents that are fatilities. For this reason cruise control should never be used as you already do NOT have control on ice or water!
Thank You for the question hope I could shed some light for future use.

IT happened to me without the cruise control. The
slight of rain, poor road conditions.I braked hard
when a coyote ran across a rural road one morning.
I never regained control of my car and hit a brick
wall, and YES the car did speed up and I had no
way of knowing the front wheel brakes were locked
up as well, which enabled my steering abilities. I
kept telling myself to think as I drove closer to
this wall, I released the brakes and began tapping them but nothing worked. It's a scary thought not having control, it will NEVER happen to me again. I learned a valuable lesson. a $25000.00 lesson. I totaled that car. Be careful out there,it can happen to you.

To Don, Silent Witness now have new camera's that are mounted inside and outside of school buses the ones that are mounted outside will show the car and tag no. when he or she goes by you illegaly.
