U.K.'s top law officer busted at 99 mph

As Britain's Solicitor-General, Labor Member of Parliament Harriet Harman, 52, is the first woman to hold the post, which makes her one of the most senior law officers in the country. She said she is "mortified" about being caught driving at 99 mph (30 mph over the 70 mph speed limit) on the M4 motorway near Bristol on January 8. She was driving her son back to Bristol University after the Christmas break. Harman said she is very sorry and recognizes she should have paid more attention to the speed she was traveling at. She will plead guilty to the charges at the first available opportunity.
However, she is not the only high ranking member of government to be caught
speeding way over the limit, reports the London times. Deputy Prime Minister
John Prescott has four speeding convictions. The most recent was in 1997 when
he drove at 80mph on a 30mph section of an icy M62 motorway. Read
